You’re building something you’re proud of, but your business may not give you the options you think it will.
I’ve lived that too. This is exactly why Wren Business Law exists.
Wherever you are—starting, growing, or preparing to sell—we’ll help you build a business that’s valuable, runs on its own, and gives you the choice to sell one day.
Every business has chapters. Build each one for what comes next.
Start
Grow
Sell
I created the law firm I wish I’d had when I was building my businesses.
So I built Wren Business Law around the kind of relationship I was looking for: a lawyer focused exclusively on small business who knows the whole business and is there with you through every chapter, from startup to growth to sale.

I’ve been on your side of the table.
I’m an entrepreneur who happens to be an attorney.
Yes, I really love the numbers.
Questions we hear the most
Is my business too small to need a business attorney?
Not at all. One of the best times to work together is when your business is still small and the possibilities are big. We can get the important stuff right while you build.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
I work exclusively with small businesses, especially owner-led companies built around exceptional customer service, great people, and a real connection to their community
Are you only for businesses that want to sell?
Not at all. The things that make a business valuable to a buyer also make it a better business to own, whether you sell it one day or keep it forever. I just want you to have the choice.
Do you only work with businesses in California and Texas?
For legal work, yes—I’m licensed in California and Texas. But for business advisory work, I can help small business owners anywhere with the numbers, strategy, and decisions that come with building a business.
Will I actually talk to you and work with you?
Yep. If you become a Wren client, we’ll work together personally, which is why I keep my client list small enough to really know every business I work with.
Can I call you about things that aren’t strictly legal questions?
Please do. I built Wren Business Law so you’d have someone to call when you need to think through a business decision, not just when you need a lawyer to answer a legal question.
Do you work with my accountant, bookkeeper, or other advisors?
All of the above! I’m not just happy to work alongside your other advisors, I prefer to. Your lawyer, accountant, bookkeeper, and other advisors shouldn’t all be working in separate worlds, so depending on our work together, I’ll often help connect the dots and run point when we need everyone at the table.
Do I need to know exactly what kind of help I need before I call you?
Nope. Just tell me what’s keeping you up at night, what you’re trying to build, or what decision you’re stuck on. We’ll figure out what you need from there.
How do you price your work?
Flat fees, always. Hourly billing makes you think twice before calling your lawyer, which is pretty much the opposite of the relationship I want us to have. The flat fee depends on how much we’re doing together across START, GROW, and SELL.
How long do we work together?
It depends on what you need. We might work together on one chapter of your business, or I might be alongside you for years as you start, grow, and eventually sell.
How do I get started?
The easiest way to get started is to grab a time directly on my calendar for a free 30-minute Zoom so we can meet face-to-face and talk about your business. But I also believe you should actually be able to call your lawyer, so my phone number isn’t just decorative. If you call and I can’t answer, I’ll personally call you back (for real!). Either way, I’ll help you figure out what you actually need (even if it isn’t me), and if we’re a good fit for each other, I’ll walk you through your options for working together.
What does an initial conversation cost?
Nothing! Our first 30-minute Zoom is free. I want to learn about your business and help you figure out what you need before we ever talk about working together.
Tell us what you’re building
If I miss you, I’ll personally call you back. (For real!)
